uhey community of datto 1200.com. long time no chat, its coz ive been flat out with skool and work, and working on the ute.
where really starting to get some wherenow, gettting a lot of rust cut out, we have made new sills, and yeahits starting to get soe decent progress. ok now for the questions.
igot a 200b of my mate, ive pulled, motor gearbox struts everything out this after noon after skool in one piece. and ive also got a 120y ( NICEST INTERIOR IVE SEEN ON A 120Y!)
and its got the disc brake front end, what im wondering is, will the 200b girlocks and disks bolt up to the 120y struts..?
and i went to buy a pair of stanza struts but they had the ####ty jap brakes, so i left em there, but will 200b girlocks and discs fit onto the staza struts? he has the other calipers for the stanza struts, the good girlocks but they didnt bolt up?
i bought the stanza booster of him. but ive also havenow, the 200b booster, and a 120y booster, what do you fellas think i should go with? oh yeah i got the 1200 ute work shop manual and A12 workshop manual 2, so if any needs info i can foto copy and send to them. just ask me.
i got #### loads more questions but i cant remember them. she'll be right.
cheers fellas,
jono.
p.s sorry bout the long post.
ive rememberd afew things, will a 120y dif go under a 1200 ute? is it stronger than the H165 standard diff?
and theother thing is, does any one want parts from a 120y,or 200b. the 200b is rooted. ive got tail shaft, pettytank, most parts, tell me or im getting what i want, and taking parts to swap meet, then cars going to the scrap yard.

Mate, it doesn't matter what you do for a job, if you want clear answers, you need to learn how to ask clear quesrtions. Organise your thoughts, don't let them spew out into sentences.

200b girlock onto Stanza = Dunno. Don't bother.

200b girlock onto 120Y = No
120y diff better than H165 = No
Stanza Booster = dunno probably no
200B booster = No
120Y Booster = No < 1978 (Best Bet, but still unlikely).

I hope this helps.

If you want my opinion on getting parts for a rebuild. I suggest you research first, then go off buying parts. Don't buy parts by just hoping that they'll fit. Unless they are free, and you have plenty of space to store them.

Good to see some progress dude.

Cheers,
Chris

I notice the brake booster questions pop up quite regularly. Why do you guys want to fit brake boosters?

good calipers #### calipers, I would think any disks would be better than drums?

So that you need only to wave your foot over the pedal to get smooth & efficient brake performance, after all, it's the car thats supposed to do all the work, not your leg.

Yeah, i'm still working in & around the snowfields & will be here for another week. If one is over 45, then beware the mature age ski bunnies, those women are on the prowl & can do a man my age a serious injury. I have escaped for tonight, but tomorrow, we party.
