help, fuel lines for 1200

just wanna know if i need to run bigger fuel lines for a 1200 with a ca18det in it.

I dont wanna get 600bhp out of it. Keeping it fairly standard. May just front intercool of i have money.

I suspect not but just wanna hear some point of views.

I just finished fitting 5/16 inch supply and return lines to my ca powered ute im building.
should be plenty big enough for the job.

yeah I orignally went with 5/16" for the feed line to the fuel rail via the fual reg, and just used the standard 1200 fual line as a return. But I got knocked back for having copper fuel lines so I went with 3/8" metal fual line, cheap as only $350 for 6 meters then you just bend it to shape, which isn't as easy as it sounds.

yep, 5/16th (EFI diameter) lines are required.

I'd run a feed and return line both in 5/16th.
This will mean you'll have to empty, wash and "air" the fuel tank for several days for safety before soldering in bigger line from the tank.

Explosions aren't fun, so be careful.

$350 for fuel line? OMG.

I paid about $30 for steel bundy tube to do mine. It comes rolled up. You used to be able to buy it in straight lengths.

I left the tank standard and installed a surge tank cause i didnt want to mess around with my fuel tank. i have seen a few explode before!

thanks guys,

i thought $350 was a bit over priced.

$30 sounds good.

Is that for return lines also. I suppose it is.

i should post up some progress pics of my coupe.

it will hopefully be finished body an engine work by christmas.

Im hoping to get it drivable before i take it to body shop so as to make sure all fabrication stuff is complete.

should be a matter of weeks

I cant wait. This should go like a rocket.

Another trick to solder your fuel tank is to connect it to an exhaust the corbon monoxidewont let it explode

I went with the bundy tubes as well :) 5/16 I think.
From my understanding the fuel soaks into the seams of the fuel tank and that is what will cause the explosion, even if properly drained and ventilated.
I intend to take my tank to a Radiator place (had some work done through them in the past) to have the top soldered onto my UTE tank. (In-tank Bosch 040 pump)

Sorry to hijack the tread but I was wondering what people have used to hold the fuel lines in place under the car (run along the chassis Rail). I intend to run 2x 5/16 fuel lines and the rear brake line next to each other and was looking for a clamp/multiple clamps to hold them in place??
