1974 DATSUN 1200 Deluxe
Red Book Code: DATS74AC
(Keep this code for your finance/insurance company)
Year 1974
Description COUPE Deluxe 2dr Man 4sp 1200
Price range private sale* $1,000-$2,300
Price range trade in
Average kilometres
Price when new $2,582

This is the current Price Guide on the latest Coupe yet why cant i find 1 for aorund that price, it seems every body is expecting double that and in some cases what there selling is by no means a work of art.

The Hunt is on to Buy 1 but its going to be a hard task.

I am thinking of maybe swapping my 1996 Holden Acclaim for 1 thats in top notch condition but it will depend on what is offered.

what you've come up against is that the insurance companies haven't caught up with the fact that 1200's are now collectable,as is proven by this website.so you get the official book price being way under the real value, which is what the market is willing to pay.good
hunting, hope you find a good one for a reasonable price.

The bargains are out there....usually non club members, but you will have to wait 12 months I reckon.

They fetch top dollar on ebay...one went for $5000US in the USA and GX coupes are now fetching $20k US in Japan...

I found out that my 96' Acclaim is only worth about $5-7,000 yet a 1200 Coupe from the Early 70's is around the same, i found 1 on Ebay thats going for a Dollar, might be the next project to get up and going unless any of you other Datsun nuts out there out bid me for it, lol
