Hi Guys, new member here.. and im on a stage of purchasing a Ute to start a project.. i got a quick question.. ive looked at a 1971 ute.. and ive got another one to look at, but its like 2 hours away which sounds right and good price... but its an 1982... would this be ecsacly the same as the 1971.. asi dont want to drive all the way there and find out thats it different???

yeh they'll be the same,
apart from the dash on the 82 ute may be brown, and it will have a different A12 motor.
and maybe the hooks on the side of the tray will be slightly differnt.
but it will look the same.

what are u plannin to do the ute?

if your plannin on fitting an a15 engine, then the 1971 model will be a bit harder as the Xmember is diffrent in the early models. In the 82 model its pretty much a straight drop in. As woody said there aint 2 much diffrent between them in the looks department

the dash in the later model will have 3 circular guages (like a coupe) rather than the long rectangular speedo..

and the front grill will be different on both models.... metal grill for the early one.. plastic for the later model
