So I have re-bled my brakes and still the light in the dash stays on.

I pulled the brake indicator switch out of my parts car to swap out and hope this is where the problem lies.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so what was the cause?

This may be a stupid question, but is the right level of brake fluid in the master cylinder? A low level will cause the light to go on.

Yes the level is good, although, my master cylinder doesnt have the fluid level electronics on it, like my parts car does.

I have also tried to activate the switch in the hand brake manually and still the light stays on.

Your sig. says it best, just put some tape over the light.
