Hi mate
I recall reading somewhere that diesel turbos are unsuitable for use on petrol motors but I can't remember why I'm sorry. I would think that the T25 from a CA18DET would be OK for a 1.2 litre motor.

If you run very low boost you may get away with not needing to crack the motor to upgrade the internals but be very wary of detonation. A few of the boys on this site who are running forced induction on their A series use the Weber 32/36 carbie.

There have been several threads on this very subject in the past 6 months so it may be worth you doing a search and having a chat to some of the boys who have already completed their engines.

Regards Matty

the problem is that diesels has a very short rev range, so the turbo will probly be maxed out by the time the a12 reaches 6000 rpm. although being a 1.5 litre turbo maybe it will be ok ...... i reckon a t25 may even be too big for an a12 maybe e15 would be good ????

You're probably right Kegs. The E15ET had a T2 from memory.

You can drive fast with turbo and original gearbox and diff, it is fine and will last many years.

BUT, if you want to drag race and drop the clutch at 6000 RPM, you will kill the standard diff and gearbox very quickly.
