how do i do it, i bent it and i need to replace it so i need to get it out but cant be bothered taking out the engine

Idont mean to piss on your parade but xmember supports engine only other way is to support engine and then remove engine

yeah i tried to tell my dad you cant do it cause it holds up the engine, looks like a bit more work than i wanted

the only way that I can see would be to remove your bonnet and hire an engine crane, that way you can take the wait of the engine, hell I have done an in chassy sump gasket so anything is possible.

When I did my in chassis rebuild several months ago, I jacked up the engine and supported it with a suitable car stand on the crank pully. then I could drop the X-member and take off the sump and take the bottom end apart.

[ I had the engine jacked up enough, so tha the gear box bell housing was up against the transmission tunnel padded by ragging.] There was no sideways movement of the engine.

Another option is to use a suitable engine hoist to support the weight of the engine without actually removing the engine.
