hey im looking for a side view mirror (passenger side) for my datsun 1000 coupe which is in brisbane.

OR

some advice on where i could get one from.

Which side? Is it mounted on the top of the guard, or on the side? [Left becomes right, depending on top or side mounting]

If you can send me a picture of the existing one I will have a look to see what i have. There were two diferenmt arms too, so a picture would be good.

im pretty sure it is fitted in those 2 holes theres. and it didnt come with a side mirror so i cant get a pic sorry. but hope this helps

just dont jump down my throat if im wrong.. thats just what i was told.

I cant see the pic is it on the guard or the door?

traditionally the Japs had them on the guards but some Aussie ones were put on the doors.

the holes are on the guard. and i kno they are suposed to be there for something because they are perfect circles.

There are no pictures in your posts. You can probably see them, but they do not show up on anyone else's computer.

All Datsun 1000 coupes were sold with two mirrors on the mudguard. They were fitted at the dealership during pre-delivery & there were some variatoin in the fitting of them.
Some were fitted on the top edge of the guard & some were fitted on the side just below the top edge.
A mirror that was mounted on the top, on the right side, would be fitted to the left if mounted on the side of the guard.

Door mounting was a factory option, however, i have never actually seen any fitted there, so naturally, I had to swim against the tide & that's where mine are fitted.

Since you were asking for only one mirror I have assumed that you have the other as a sample.

Shaun from the pics I saw it looks like you have mirror holes in the passenger side guard, and a mirror on the drivers side door.

But in your avatar pic it looks like there is a passeger side door mirror also, is this correct?

no sorry.... this is not my coupe in the avatar, i need to update that.. that was when i was dreaming of having a 1000 coupe

Perhaps they'd been 'modified'. I might check the two I have now for signs of guard mounted mirrors (after I fix the brakes! )
