I just have to share this!

I broke first gear selectors at Manfield last month, so had to launch the thing in second.. With the 15x10 slicks, 4.6 diff and 1.9:1 second gear, an 8200 rpm launch was required to get it moving... It's then doing over 100 k's before you grab second... It's the only time I've ever felt the clutch slip. Gotta love the old Nissan works stuff, it's all a bit heavy, but trying that sort of thing on production driveline components would have meant a lound bang and back on the trailer!

My times are coming down on the circuit now, which is immensely satisfying after a year of struggling with the setup

Do you mean 3rd? Reminds me of my Option one 56A 5 speed behind the A12 - 50mph in first - always a challenge to get off the line. A little more fragile than your 'tank drivetrain' tho Tim! Glad to hear your're getting the improvement in track performance out of her - nothing like the ups and downs of a long term relationship!
