ive still got the standard 3.889 H150 in the sunny, considering it has a near stock L18 with hitachi/SU's will it blow the H150? Im goin to use it in sprints, hillclimbs and motorkhanas so yes there will be some spirited driving involved.

The h150 is a little stronger than its h145 counter part but behind a l18 with spirited driving will probably show its weakness. If hard launches and hard shifts are what you are wanting from it forget it. The torque of the l18 will overcome it. Smooth progessive driving and it will live for a long time. But hey give it ago first it may just suprise you. If its in good order it will take up a fair bit of punishment.

most underated datsun diff around, mine lives happily behind l20b with a bit of porting, webber and exhaust. And i dont go easy on it either so i would say easilly for you setup. Mine is a cig locker tho but it was fine with openwheeler before.

I also no a bloke adam with a 120y stock diff h150 locked, this has been fine with ca18det power for over a year and much hard street driving.

Ive had mine at the drags and didnt break anything with sticky 205s and 6000 dumps!

Yeah id definately try it first before worrying. Yes they are weak but i believe that really does depend on what sort of a life it had previously in the last 20 or 30years. If you get a good one it will last if not say bang. I had a h145 behine the worked a14 for over a year and gave it hell. Killed it, replaced it and the second only lasted two weeks.

I had one behind a worked A14, and to my suprise it didn't blow. Ive also run one behind an L20b, but It hasn't seen enough punishment yet.
The biggest killer is donuts, and standstill burnouts. When the axles are driving, and there is some resistance from the brakes thats a lot to ask.
I recently made an H150 phantom grip, but haven't had the chance to fit it yet.

well I only just got the car from my grandad 2 years ago, he had owned it from brand new and it never saw anything past 3500 revs when he drove it so it hasnt done any work at all and those 2 years ive had it it hasn't had much of a flogging either, up until the grunter has been levered between the strut towers :P

it would be fair to expect that you should get a good run out of it then. previous treatment is a big factor in longevity.
