a15 electronic distributor questions

i picked up a electronic dizzy out of about a 1989 or 1990 c20 vanett it had a verry late model a15 in it with electronic ignition. cost me nz$30. what i want 2 know is are they a str8 fit 2 an a15 in a car or do i have 2 change the weights?. also i havent bean able 2 find a pic of 1 from the outside it looks like any other a series dizzy, but has the module on the inside with 2 wire comeing out.

it will fit straight in, but with any vehicle, I recommend getting it recurved, especially if you have done any engine mods.
You can still use the original coil, but it would be better to use a transistor type coil to give the real benefit of having electronic ignition.

I didn't think they made the vanettes that late with A's. Does it have 2 screws holding the cap on instead of clips?

Yeah, they had the funny shaped black rocker cover, would be a good A15 to get hold of.

is the late a15 a beter engine?. i thought it wold be rubish due to all the emisions stuff & dont the heads have the obstructsion in the inlet port 2 creat turbulance?. pick a part have lots of late model c20s with a15s in them about 3 at a time some times! only sean the 1 electronic dissy though! the 1 i got.

The later engines are good ones to get, as theoretically they should have travelled less I know it's broad statement, But I like the rocker cover. It's different
