Hi all can someone help me please. My datsun 1000 coupe has 1200 coupe seats and runners in it they don't fit well so I want to replace them with others that are a better fit. Has anyone done this and what seats fit the easiest and suit the small layout. Thanks all..Peter

The way I remember it, we used the original 1000 seat runners, bolted a couple of pieces of flat strop across them through the original seat mounting holes, then bolted the 1200 coupe seats to these. Worked fine in my wife's 1000 two door.

I am in a similar boat as well. I had a broken driver's side seat runner that was only broken where the mounting screw goes thru. I threw out the broken bit instead of welding it back on, thinking I could just get a new one. How wrong I was!!!

And of course, 1000 sedan ones don't fit exactly, and ones from other models have the seat adjuster in the wrong spot.

Yes, as far as i can tell the coupe adjusters different from sedans. They seem to be a slightly different width as well as having the slide aduster in a different spot. I bought some sight unseen from a wrecker a long way away, and of course they don't fit.

Dattoman, I must get around to sending you my handbrake bits to see if you can make a handbrake cable up. They are as rare as rocking horse poo as well!!!

Thanks for all the tips please keep us informed on how you go with the swift seats. Hey with the handbrake cable I do have a couple of them but they are mixed up with some 120y cables and 1000sedan cables if you give me an idea of what the dif is beween them I just may be able to help you out there.
