hey guys.. I have a question i have brought a 1980 datsun sunny wagon with a l20b with rego.. but hasn't been mod plated yet just wondering what would i need do get it done here in queensland i also have a bluebird trx which isn't running which i was planing to put the motor in but everyday i seem to enjoy hooting aloong in the datto is there anybody who might be able to help with above question would be great

A lot of RWC places can do the simple mod plate stuff - it's a similar age donor car/engine so the emmisions stuff is there.

Basically if the L20B is stock, the brakes & suspension is decent they might just pass it anyway as a displacement increase, it's well within the allowable limits. You may need Stanza struts so you have larger front brakes though. How you mounted the engine & gearbox will matter the most, if you swapped with other factory gear its already passed ADRs isn't it? Custom mounts may make it more difficult.

Basically, ring a few places & see if they can do it or not. They may have changed all the rules so my knowledge could be out of date.
