I have just bought a 5 speed gearbox which i think is a sunny as it has a nissan logo on the side of it and it came out of a datsun 1000 with a imported type A12,like in 120Y's with the dizzy further back. I only paid $72 for it from a wrecker in lonsdale S.A. Aust. It was so cheap as i said to them that it was a 4 speed otherwise i would have had to pay $185 for it. Now do nissan only make one 5 speed gearbox that fits to the A12. if so i guess that it is a sunny one i have got, then what are the gear ratios for each gear and is it a close ratio gearbox with 5th gear being 1:1 ratio. Do you think i got a good deal here. any info will be very handy thanks

I think u just picked up a bargain! If its a sunny 5 speed it will be a smooth cased box with a 1:1 5th gear. Its also a dogleg shift pattern. I just put one into my coupe last weekend. New mounts had to be fabricated to make it fit. For 72 bucks i wouldnt be complaining. Some people will pay up to 500 bucks for one!! cya Scott
