But I have just been given a Datsun recently and just wanting to see what all you think i should do with it...And if it is worth doing anything....Here are the specs off the engine tag.... 78 F10 85.2cid 1397cc Engine type is A14 Max HP/RPM 80HP/6000RPM. I am sure i have you thinking "damn this guys a tool" by now but hey what can i say i'm a VW guy! But would like to take this on as a project if it is gunna be worth it.... I will be getting pics this weekend and will post them ASAP. The car looks pretty solid other than the useual rusted lower door skin and a few odd holes in the floor.

Any help wouyld be greatly appreciated

I wish to call you stupid
Mate if you dig the car. Thats all that matters. Build it, show it off and be proud of your Datsun.
I dont know what a F10 is. Me thinking its a cherry or something. Will be good to see your pics.
A-series motor or body has to be a cool car no matter what.

The F10 is certainly a Cherry.

I agree with Doc, if you think you'll enjoy having a crack at a project there should be nothing stopping you, regardless of the vehicle.

Datto's are always better though!!!

The A-series engine can be tuned pretty easily; for a street car I'd use the GX cam, 32/36 weber carb , the dual valve springs , header and clean up the ports. Put some sway bars , gas shocks and 185/60 -13 tiers on some nice rims. This will make for a fun ultra reliable street car. if you're doing air-cooled VW's the F10 will be similar fun.....i.e. light easy to work on.

When you start driving it, getting used to it and when you start playing with the engine you will fall in love with it, you will see. Be proud of this wonderfull Car, and show us the pics as soon as you get them.

You're not stupid for liking Volkswagons or for owning a Datsun. But spelling head incorrectly............

Just stirring you. Good luck with your new car mate. I hope you have plenty of fun in it.

Regards Matty
