Hey,

I need to know whether a 1200 (ute) has the same length tailshaft as a 1000 ute?
Also I have to change the back end of the 1000 shaft from a h146 to h165 fitment, does it have to be cut off and the h165 one welded on??
cheers,

Tyrie

Take a measurement from the diff flange to the yoke in the back of the gearbox. Take everything you've got down to someone who does tailshafts.

Make sure that they know exactly where your measurements were taken from and that they allow for movement in the diff.

They may be able to cut and weld, but it is not that expensive to "re-tube" a tailshaft.

One thing I would recommend is that you use yokes with replaceable uni's (ute).

Get it all balanced, common sense.

You may get a six pack as well out of $200. Take a bit extra if you like premium beer, or incase your tailshaft costs a little more.

The uni's just went in my ute, best option would be to talk to someone like Hardy Spicer, getting a new tailshaft at the moment (ready tomorrow) with replaceable commodore uni's. A workshop like this would also be able to change your end fittings for your diff.

Mines costing me $455
