Hey Guys, I just did a compression test and I'm amazed with what I found. Expecting between 150-175psi based on previous experiences:
Results (dry):
1: 150psi
2: 125psi
3: 100psi
4: 130psi

At first I thought it could be head gasket...until I did the oil in the cylinder trick, to check for possible worn compression rings.
Results 2 (oil added)
1: 175psi
2: 150psi
3: 130psi
4: 150psi

Looks like my CA18 has buggered compression rings. Even though it's not blowing much smoke, appears I could be losing up to 40% power through lack of compression. The little smoke I
do see out the back is probably due the fact that the low compression is not burning all of the petrol resulting in petrol smoke.

So it's time for a trip to SSS Autos for either a new engine, or a cheap short engine for a mega rebuild.

I always thought there wasn't something quite right.
I'll keep you all posted.
