Morning all,

Is it just me or is there an increase in catty bitchy-ness on the forum lately?

A few forum topics are getting to 2 or 3 contructive posts then get all biatchy.

Is it something in the air/water/petrol?

Surely Datsun guys aren't anywhere near as bitchy as the XR6T forums, or even the Commondoor forums!

No youll find that most people are quite humble when it comes to their datsuns. We do get every once in a while someone who may look down on us as a group or someone who is going for one-upmanship...when this happens they in my opinion are fairly dealt with and when done so launch personal attacks on a partiucular person. If that happens it draws alot more people into the equation as we have all something very much in common and we feel like they are attacking a member of our family. I am not one who can let this happen...and these people usually get sorted fairly quickly OR change their ways and know that they are in a trusted circle of people who will stand up for them.
In most instances I just ask them to bring their car out to a racetrack and see if they are really walking the walk...and not just talking. Not that Im a good driver or builder of cars...Im not definatley not, but I do know when someone is feeding a line...and the more people talk about themselves, the less they can learn from others....

As an every day reader and rare contributor, I would have to agree. Last time I dared to get excited about a post of a sedan in a wrecking yard in Los Angeles, I was soundly drilled for daring to think the sedan might be a four door... which I thought because he'd been looking for 15 years. In the last few days, posts by YaMom have started a lot of friction, and there are certain regular contributors who, while no doubt very knowledgeable and experienced, are quick to see off what they see as the obvious or the stupid. As a Datsun enthusiast I try not to mouth off to people I can't see. Some members on this site have been absolutely fantastic with helping others though. When I was looking for a 2 door sedan everyone was great.

i have found datsun1200.com more relaxed than other forums. Petty fighting really dosn't achive much but i recon its because the same boring quetions keep coming up. They say there is always one in each crowd so theres bound to be a trouble maker around. carnt be helped just gotta accept it

This could be a cathartic thread - to get everybodies bitchyness out once and for all....

Fade in... that song by Christine Aguleria - "Your are beautiful no matter what they say......."
