Beatz
The twin Webers should not change anything in relation to the temperature guage.

There are really only three parts to this system, these being the sender unit in the head, the wiring, & the guage itself.
Try geting a mate to sit in the car, & you remove the wire from the sender unit. You are going to earth this wire onto the engine, so you might need to stick a nail or comething into the fitting on the wire to allow thiss to happen.

With ignition 'on' short this wire onto the engine. Get your mate to tell you what happens with the guage. If it moves up, then remove the wire from the engine. If it goes down, then the problem is most likely the sender unit. These are not particularly expensive to buy, but the old one can sometimes be a pain to remove.

If nothing happened, check your fuses, any earth connections under the dash, & if still no luck, you might need someone who is a bit savy with auto electricals

I was at Repco the other day and they wanted something like $35 for it!

I had the feeling they were less then $10...unless inflation has gone crazy the last few months

I think I will pass. I am a bad cunt who rips people off. All those datsun owners that I have helped fix problem in this forum and written posts on how to check things to solve problems. Its all just a scam to make money. All that incorrect advice that I take the time to actually correct, is all just my way of being an even badder cunt.
Maybe stick to the advice you have already been given;
Quote:
check your fuses, any earth connections under the dash

After all, the temp guage has its own fuze and most importantly a guage that relies on its sender supplying earth needs a good earth on the guage itself.
Or you could make note;
If the power supply to the temp guage has a blown fuze - the fuel guage wont work either.
If the guage had a poor earth - the fuel guage wouldnt work either.
If the dash guages voltage reg was blown - the fuel guage wouldnt work either.
So, if your fuel guage works while the temp doesnt - you have 3 things that could be faulty.
1 - temp sender
2 - wire from temp sender to guage
3 - the temp guage itself.
No guage fuzes or guage earths need to be checked if the fuel guage still works.

But I am just being a bad cunt so nowdays I will choose not to help on some topics.

It propbably would of helped if i told you what is happening
the gauge doesnt move at all and then occasionally it will go up to the first line then it will go back down again.

Does that help you work out whats wrong???
Thanks for your help ill give your suggestions ago and let you know if it works!!

Sounds like the same problem as my GF's 1200. it shows the temp occasionally then goes back as if the car is off. The water/engine is def heating up, just not registering on the guage!

The guage if it needs repairing is easy to do normaly just has been burnt out and needs a new wire wraped around the thingy not sure what its called but u will see it..

If the guage moves up then it works just is a really cool running engine....proably because of what converted said lol to him good call....the guage is so basic that its either broken or its not

I didnt know you could say cunt here cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt just for the sake of it proably will be added to the band list now whoops
