I sold this ute a fair while ago to a guy who was interested in the running gear! he claimed he was going to pull out the engine, box, diff brakes etc and put them into his coupe. strange thing to do considering that this thing had 21 pages of engineers report with it!
i still miss it and am looking to find another project. currently i am driving an 03 wrx that i have spent more than i wanted to making it go harder. they are an incredible car to drive, but still miss the scare that my 1200 ute would give me!
hope the pic works...

The colour in that pic looks way different.
One of the boys that works at Final Stage owns it nowdays. Its had the engine removed. Still has the diff and brakes etc.
The pic below is what the engine bay holds now. Its currently sitting in a workshop where I used to work, waiting on a rewire.

thanks dodgeman!

phunk...
the ute was very dirty the day that pic was taken, hence the change in colour.
i ike the new engine
question for you: have final stage fixed the problem with the rearend? it was running a 5 link when i sold it that snapped one of the mounting points for the coil overs. I know the boys at final stage wanted to extend the mini tubs, to full tubs and i recall them talking a 9"???
i was very close to putting in a stall converter before i sold it as it ran a standard nissan 3 speed, which tended to hamper its performance off the line. I had the money set aside to pretty much finnish the thing off with the full tubs, microtech, larger turbo etc, but ended up cutting my losses and settling on the subaru. at least the family can come with me in this car!
any other info would be appreciated.

Looks good dirty.
Don't know the guy who owns it.
A quick look underneath showed the coil overs still in place.
The quick look also told me that obviously anything can be engineered Hence no other pics.
