not sure where i do this but i'm in Brisbane and i'm after an ignition barrell and stearing lock for the 1200, the guy i bought it off has had the ignition moved to the dash, pretty trick but apparently no chance for the road worthy

Loads of 1200s came with no ignition lock.
I've even owned one.

The 120Y one should be the same. Can't guarantee that though.

New ignition lock January 1978 to meet ADR 25A law

Unless your car has "25A" stamped on the compliance plate ..no probs with having the ignition somewhere else.

If it was made before Jan 1978, it almost certainly won't be there. compared it to mini moke register..march 1978, and Torana website where the original Jan 1978 info came from.

So there. Some people may have fitted them before needing to. But the test will be 25A, which specifically deals with ignition locks. ADR 25 DOES NOT deal with ignition locks. So don't worry if it has 25, plenty of cars from the early 70s had ADR 25.
