Is it just me, or was the styling of the 1971 B110 2-dr based on the 1969 C10 Skyline 2-dr?

compared to this Datsun 1200 at last year's Canby meet:

It's like the econobox-ed "mini" version of the same corporate style. Today was the first time I've ever seen a Skyline C10 in real life. I have to say it looks even better than in photos! Seattle all-Nissan/Datsun meet

Yep, there are definite styling cues. Nissan were/are pretty big on creating a corporate identity actually.

Also interestingly the "surf line" over the rear wheels of the Skyline have pretty much been a styling feature that has remained with the Skyline since the C10 (and arguably the S50). Take a look at the C pillar of the R33 Skyline... look familiar? It should, it was designed to resemble the C10.

Nice Sunny by the way!!

Now if you can find a way to photoshop about 1-1/2 inches from your two door's roofline, you will get an even better idea of the similarities.
