g'day guys

i'm having a little problem with the ol' a 12, in the morning when i start it up it will cut out imediately after taking my foot off the accelerator. it's not cold enough yet for the choke and yes i've tried that. it's ok once it's warmed up a bit but yeh, is there something i can adjust or change to fix this annoying problem.

alright that was helpfull, befor i go stick my head in the ute again, how do you adjust the throttle cable?

sorry cant help u there, i had to take mine to a mechanic, i had the same problem.

I have the same problem with my ute
I replaced the stock carby with rebuilt and tuned Weber DGV but still having the same issue.
Starts easy just needs to hold the accelerator pedal for few minutes otherwise it will stall.
Played with the choke and idle setting still no luck.
done normal service spark plugs, points etc

I experienced the same problem when i changed my carb's jets, i was using a #95 main jet and evetything was fine, now i'm using a #92 and this problem appeared.

This is normal in some way because when the engine is cold the mixture can't be burned complitly, that's why computer controled engines provide a richer mixture and a little higher rev speed while the engine is cold, some newer carbs does this too, but anyway i think that you should check the ignition timing, and idle mixture, and check for vacuum leaks that could be causing a lean mixture problem too.

dont know if it will help but try looking for gaps in your head gasket maybe even carby i was missing the gasket in both and sealed them with a new gasket and gasket seal and it gos heaps better

funny you should say that because the seal in the bottom of the carby is broken. i'm going over to my mates place on saturday and we'll have a tinker with the timing and the carb etc. hopefully we can get it a little better.

it was suggested that a weber 32/36 down draft with a set of extractors could help, but was mentioned in a previous post here.
