WANTED - Datsun 1200 sports air filter

I'm after a sports air filter to suit a Datsun 1200 (Standard 1200 carby). The one I am looking for is something like a RAMFLO filter with foam instead of paper element.
If anyone can help then that would be great.

I got a Ramflo to fit the standard carby from Autobarn. Think it was about $20.00.

Just out of curiosity, but does anyone seriously think that a small 'sports' air filter actually flows more filtered air than the larger stock air filter, [compare new against new] & can the 'sports' one remove as much airborne material as efficiently?

You've got a point there Dodgeman, But a chrome sports air filter looks alot better than the standard bulky unit that the 1200's came out with.

No, but I'm sure that a $50 filter works better than a $10 filter ... I believe in giving my money to big business.

You get no argument from me over that one, so I guess it's a 'Beauty of form' versus 'Beauty of function'
If you keep the lid shut, then the sports air filter has nothing to offer, but if the rest of the engine is nice, then the shiney sports model definately looks the part.

And if the centre post on the standard carby breaks off you have to replace the filter with something.

That happened to me, and JB-Weld fixed it. Just mix the two-part, put some where the threads used to be, and push the post into the carby.

lol i remember a while back when a friend and i were at autobarn and the salesman there was trying to convince us putting a pod filter on our car will give u a 15kw gain.
