G'day all I have just bought a sunny b310 sedan which has a worked A15 and normal shift pattern 5-speed 60 series gearbox.
Over the weekend my brother and I did a complete engine and gearbox conversion back to it's original A12 motor and four-speed, as the car was a donor for the A15 and 5-speed. soon to go into my 120y coupe.

So therefore I thought that the tailshaft yolk has to be changed to suit the A series 5 speed, but I decided to check just to confirm it, BUT to my amazment the tailshaft that came out of the 5-speed slipped beautifully into the 120y four speed.

So can anyone tell me how/why as I thought when doing a A series 5 -speed conversion, that you have to change the size of the yolk.

It's great news for me though, one less thing to worry about

dont quote me on this ... i think it depends on the box type and the size of the outout shaft, hydraulic box to cable box to could be different. Anyhow i did a 5spd swap with a dogleg box and the orig 4spd tailshaft slid straight in

You will only need to change the tailshaft yoke if you put the 63a box in.
