Yeah its just a solenoid used to pull on the door latching mech. Not hard to fit. And its basically like an alarm system to wire up the control module.
Advice - dont by ChassisTech/airbagit.com or what ever other 101 names the chassistech company goes by nowdays. Their control modules ####up and the solenoids get stuck on. They still stick even with relays. Only way to prevent it, is to use resistors before the relay. Any control module that burns out just triggering a relay, is crap, just like most chassistech ####.

Most control modules are able to control 1 - 4 doors. Really you only need it to control 1 door. Do you plan to have an alarm also? How many remotes do you want to carry? Yeah you can have an alarm module and a remote entry module all programed to operate off the one remote, but you still need to by the 2 module to start with. The simplist way to go, is to buy an alarm that can control central locking ( just about any nowdays) Since you have no external door handles - you dont really need central locking. Just use the unlocking trigger to open the drivers door. ( turns alarm off and opens the door at the one time) Most electronics shops (jaycar, tandy, dicksmiths) will sell a solenoid. Heaps of cars come with electronic boot releases from factory VK commodore and up. You can uses these solenoids. Or you can simply use 2 central locking solenoids (in parrallel) to open the door. Its only a 1200, so the door latches aren't hard to pull. I wouldnt waste money on an expensive remote entry module kit, especially when the cheaper priced systems will do exactly the same. The only thing I would really be looking out for, is a system (alarm or remote entry) that has a decent remote that wont fall apart in your pocket or from everyday abuse.

Be aware it involves drilling holes in your doors to pass wires from the body to the door shell.
The supplied rubber hosing for between the body and door will perish after a year or 2, giving you leaks, rust, and another job to do later.
If you use the car every day, and don't care about the long term future of the car, go ahead and fit a remote central locking kit.
I chose not to install it with my project car, after the mess they made with my last daily driver 1200.

it can be done neatly.
I have remote locks as part of my alarm. I'd say get an alarm and you get power locks and trunk opener at little cost. you shouldn't have to spend a lot, expect to spend some, you need to get decent parts.
i put my wiring for the locks and speaker in that plastic covering and ran it where the factory wires for the door speaker went. you may want to spend some extra time waterproofing it if you have a lot of rain.
you shouldn't have to permanently damage the car.

he isnt after central locking.
The rubber in the central locking kits,is indeed crap. I have always use rubbers from any another car that came with rubbers from factory - like honda, falcon, commodore etc.
When drilling the holes, most people stuff up and drill the hole in the door jam at the same height as on the door. This causes the wire to bend as the door is opened and closed and they eventually break. If you drill the holes one higher/lower than the other by about 2 inches. This fixes the problem. Now the wires twist alittle instead of bend. Saves the wires and the rubbers.
