I have recently transfered an A12 from one 120Y to another. The motor I have transfered was running fine before I transfered it. Since it has been put into my other 120Y, I have cleaned the fuel tank, fuel filter, fuel pump, and put a carby kit through it. My trouble is that, although the engine starts and idles (very rough though) if I try to drive the car or accelerate hard, the car just dies in the arse, as if there is no power. I am pretty sure that I have all the vacuum hoses hooked up correctly. I have also adjusted the timing numerous times. Is there anyone out there who may be able to give me some advice on any common trouble areas in relation to these engines. If so PM me or call me on 0438297097.

if u redid the carby its most likely that a jet isnt working properly or somethig has been fiddled with/not put back in the right posistion. id suggest pulling it off, putting the old jets and things back in and see if it does the same. if it goes away put the new stuff back in and hope for the best

I faced the same problem after I took out the carb. it seems I forgot to put back a ball bearing from the accelerator pump section.

It sounds like theres not enough fuel going in when you accelerate.
