It has been so very long that I my motor was inside my 1200 Coupe that I can't remember what bolts to use to bolt up the gearbox, and the nuts for the engine mounts.

I've got a big box of bolts, but as a 'mate' helped me pull the engine out...who wasn't as anal as me - putting bolts in little bags and labelling them.

I've got a vernier so a bit of measuring can be done - just thought I'd question the void and it's too cold to go outside and get under the car at the moment!

Memory's hazy but should be M8 bolts (12mm spanner) on the gearbox and M8 nuts on the mounts. Cant remember (a-series) but should be 4x M6 (10mm spanner) bolts underneith to hold plate on or is that auto? Oh and i think the bolts for the starter are m10 (14mm).

its a datsun, as long as the bolts hold it all together it will be ok ben...

from memory, gearbox x member has 12mm bolts to the bar, 12mm for the engine mounts... but as for the rest, as long as they fit and held the load, it worked out... but then again 1200rc and i but 1 14mm nut on one mount and one 12mm nut on another... i sound like your mate...not that anal

You know I'm going to pull out the vernier now and measure those holes, I might even take a clipboard out with me to make not of the results.....hehe. Just can't help myself. I slip on the white coat as well to add some scientific weight to the measurements.

What ended up working for me was:

Engine mount nuts: M8
Gearbox xmember to chassis: M10 x 40mm

Also found out the bolt shop sells two pitches of thread in the M10...the smaller pitch is the one you need.

Probably would have been M10 nuts on the engine mounts if I'd used the original Sunny mounts.

Ah my obsession for measuring stuff is done for now.
