Just wondering if anyone has fitted a toyota 4AGE 20 valve into a datsun 1000
I no its not quite right to fit a toyota engine into a datto
But these engines produce about 120 kw standard
Cheers

Thanks for the feed back
took some measurments today
the 20 valve might be a problem as the dissy is at the rear of the engine
might have to go for the 100 kw version
Cheers Mark

Sounds like a cool idea.

I don't think you could fit a CA18 in a 1000 so if the 4ag fitted it would be perfect.

You wouldn't even need the supercharged version to get the 1000 moving pretty quick. The 20 valve makes about 120kw and then add induction and exhaust mods and you'd be way ahead of any A series.

EDIT: Just noticed your comment on the 20 valve, I'm pretty sure there is a mod all the sprinter boys do to relocate the dizzy.

the 4age are an awesome buy if you can find one. the distributor does pose a small problem but one that is easily over come, there is a kit available, i know that you can get one custom made to suit your engine bay, i think theres a place on the southside of Brisbane that will make one for anything, can't remember the name of the place tho lol
your gonna fly with 120kw and a nice exhaust system, good luck

You are right Normo has a 4ag
I have the 16 valve in my 1200 ute, a t50 5 speed
goes real well. The 20valve is a problem with the rear dizzy. For a datto 1000 the 16valve should be sweet.
I run twin side draft dellortos and a jaycar ignition.
I have 4 wheel volvo discs and front coil overs at the moment on 15 inch CSA's. She will be up for sale when I finish my Eleanor (pics on this forum search normo)
