I just put an A15 into my 1200 wagon that came out of a mates 1200 ute. Problem is i need a new dizzy cap and im not sure what dizzy is in the motor coz i ordered one for an A15 but it was different, and its different to an A12 one.

An A12 dizzy cap is held on by the 2 clips, but the one on my A15 is held on by 2 screws.

Can anyone tell me what motor this dizzy came off?

Ive been to supercheap and it doesnt match any of the ones they had in stock,

You will probably find that the dizzy came from the import 1986 C22 vanette fitted with the A15s engine. The dizzy should have been manufactured by mitsubishi. Genuine is your only option for parts. I run one of these in my A12. I beleive they are superior in design. [the base plate sits on a full bearing race.]

specs here:
Ignition data

Vanette, (C22)
Ignition system type: CB
Ignition coil make/type: Han/H5-13-49
Supply voltage: 4.1 + Volts with ballast resistor
Primary resistance: 1.2-1.4 Ohms
Secondary resistance: 8100-12300 Ohms
Distributor make/type: Mit/T4T00571
Contact breaker gap/air: 0.45-0.55 mm
Dwell angle: 49-55 Deg
Ignition Timing - unleaded: 7 2/700 Deg eng/rpm (without vacuum)
Ignition Timing - leaded: 7 2/700 Deg eng/rpm (without vacuum)
Timing mark location: Pulley
No 1 plug location: Pulley
Firing Order: 1-3-4-2
Spark plug make: NGK
Spark plug type: BPR5ES
Electrode gap: 0.8 mm

genuine Nissan part numbers are:

distributor cap: 2216 278A10
rotor button: 2215 723G15

cheers
Benny

I ordered the A15 distributer cap for Scott from a Vanette and when it came in it was the clip on one not the screw on one. I then got the lady at super cheap to call the manufacturer and they said no A15 distributer caps were screw on.
