yeah, yeah, i know .... use the serch bar !!
i have and this is what i've found :

B110
Same for all 1971-1973 models (including ute)
End-to-end length nearly same as B310 (though diff flange differs)
1189 mm (u-joint to u-joint)
68.9 mm Tube diameter. 1.6 mm thick
20 mm Sleeve yoke (slip yoke) diameter. 1.6 mm thick. 3.150 mm pitch splines

B310
Length
End-to-end length nearly same as B110 (though diff flange differs)
49 inches from rear flange face to beginning of yoke slip surface
1045 mm manual (u-joint to u-joint)
1177 mm auto (u-joint to u-joint)
68.9 mm Tube diameter

what i want to make sure of is that ALL MANUAL 1200 MODEL TAILSHAFTS ARE THE SAME LENGTH (1045mm u-joint to u-joint) regardless of the diff being an H145 or H165 ?? the only difference is the diff flange ??

is this correct ?

or if someone has a ute tailshaft lying around could they measure it for me from face of diff flange to the centre point of the gearbox uni ??
all help will be much appreciated
cheers in advance

The ute tailshaft is slightly shorter to allow the longer snout on the diff.

only a few mm.

i think if you get a bit of 3mm sheet and cut it out to the right shape its as good as snugg.

Did a quick run down to the shed.

133.5cm for h145
129.5cm for h165

Thats from flange to yoke.

if your getting your sedan tailshaft modified for the h165 and you want to be sure...

fit the h165 diff to the car.. then measure from the end of the gearbox to the diff flange... then allow 25mm for suspension travel and theres your total length!

thanks ange, i was hoping to have all the bits sitting there to do at once as i've got a spare sedan tailshaft sitting in the garage ..... at the moment it looks like i'll be doing diff, tailshaft and coilovers all in one hit if i can stretch my wallet that far ......
