I got this head with big oval intake ports and kidney chambers but no casting numbers whatsoever. It jsut says, "NISSAN". It is COMPLETELY different than an H72-107 I have here next to it. There are ports on three sides that exist on the H72 which are completely cast over in this 'NISSAN' head. What is it?

Does it have a "13" on the head of the head bolt's?
I think it's a A12 GX head just like mine!

In no particular order:

OK... the head was stripped, so I don't know if it had dual springs.

I don't put much weight on markings on head bolts. See above. To be honest, this one had THREE bolts with it. One: "13", one "T" and one blank.

Where do you need me to take a picture to view these 'water inlets'?

There is no such thing on this head. ####, NONE of my heads have this.

Speaking of other heads, I pund ANOTHER bare head with no casting numbers on it. But this one is can't be special. 360 chambers and small round ports. There are some hyregliphics under the stat housing. Best I can tell: "25-77-15" or maybe 151. Really sketchy.

Geez you guys must be SICK of this head-game by now! I was a good boy and read the tech articles a few times and used the SEARCH button before posting my stupid question. But this A-series stuff is just NUTS!!! What are there, 40 different heads? Holy ####, in Z-land there are only, like, 6 different heads--ALL VERY CLEARLY MARKED--and we STILL get the noobs every single day, "Is this an N47 head? My friend told me it is the best kind to have for mad power."

Gotta love Nissan's bookeeping system.

The bolt in the middle position on the pushrod side blocks any view of the position where an oil hole would be if it was a 1200 head, so we can't tell from the picture.

What are the valve sizes?
35-29mm or 37-30mm The smaller valves with early type oil hole would seem to confirm it as a 1200 GX head, but without this oil hole, it would be an A12 GX head.

If the valves are the larger size, then it would likely be an A14/15 head. You need to clean up the area under the inlet ports to determine just what the situation is with the holes that provide coolant for manifold heating as this will also provide more clues to it's true identity.
