As most of you know i boast an A15 donk in my 1200 ute. It hasn't been mod plated or blue plated and i was wondering if anyone knew how much this costs and the names of some engineers or something???
Reason being that i am on a good behaviour licence (110klms/hr in a 60 zone) and i only have one probational point and a non plated engine means bye bye licence for 12 months!!

so any help would be much appreciated!!
cheers ty

Sorry for asking, what are these? Are they those restrictor plates that bring down your performance, or does it have to do with modifications on your car.

Many moons ago when I was young and wild( the age changed in the mean time...), I got caught doing 126 in a 60 zone, with a 1.3 L Ford Escourt Mk 3 of all things, was bolting it down a hill at about 01H30 in the morning. Got a 3 month jail sentence or R300($67 Aus) fine, suspended for 3 years. That's after pleading with the judge, because my dad apparently gave me a hiding, and someone also backed into my car in a parking lot...

O and, they are now also in the process of implementing that dreaded points thing in South Africa...

a blue plate or mod plate is a plate that tells cops and innocent bystanders that you have legally complied with queensland safety regulations and that the engine or modification in your vehicle is legal.

yeah i didn't have to plead to a judge, i got caught on boxing day!!! i did plead with the bastard who pulled me over and he laughed as he scribbled my name and licence number PRICK, any way same thing 2:30 on boxing day morning, not a car on the road!

mod plates dont mean the car is legal by adrs, just that the modification listed on the plate is... so engine may be modplated but doesnt make the car safe (brakes may be not up to stopping the car, etc)

this not an attack on your car but on the qld system that has put a lot of cars on the roads that should not be there (imports mostly pre 1989)
