Looks like a A series carby. By the looks of it it has Electronic choke and lots of wanky emissions diaphrams... should work on a A15...

looks like it also has an electric anti dieseling solenoid and a thing that brings the revs up a tad when the air conditioning is switched on.
I have the exact carb sitting in the shed

I've never seen one with a solenoid on the throttle body plate (bottom of carb) like that.

Can you read the carburetor model number?

Could all that crap just be removed and used on an a15 like a old style carb?

It looks like a late model emmissions carb off of a late black top A15 from a Vanette. I would like to be more sure but I always rip the buggers straight off and throw them away...

model number is on left side of carb body:

Hitachi ID Boss

Most of the time you can't remove all the emissions stuff. But don't worry it doesn't cause a problem. Just plug the hoses, none of them need to be connected.

However, in a street car you'll get better performance if you connect the vacuum advance port to the distributor.

Where its ment to be, it has a vacum daiphram over it and under that it only has what looks like a 3 inside a crazy circle.
Wierd.

cheers

If it came from an A15, I would put it on and drive it.
