I saw an ad on craigslist of someone parting out two datsun 510s and I was wondering if anyone knew if some of the parts were compatible, namely door hinges (I REALLY NEED ONE my driver's side door hangs crooked) and seats.

If the seats wouldn't just bolt on, would it be a somewhat easy modification?

Both 510s are 1971, and my B310 is 1980.

if my experience is any guide, the later b310's have uneven floors under the drivers seat and it makes swapping seats difficult.

you'd probably have better luck with seats from one of the other cars that people have had better luck with ( pulsar i think... ) or just get aftermarket ones.

typically guys just remove their door hinges and have soft metal bushings pressed in by a machine shop

or you could get flip up doors ;)

i'm def. not up to spending $300 on a set of racing seats when my car is still stock mechcanically. i just want it to look decent and be (somewhat) comfy.

do you mean just taking out the metal post thing in there the door literally swings on and fabricating a new one?
