i've been toying around with using one of those old aerospace turbine APU's and using a nice torquey electric motor maybe direct coupled to the driveshaft.

that might be a fun hybrid

maybe an expensive hybrid too.......

it's probably 15-20k it's no better than the electric battery car except it's lighter and has more range.

** what's a Honeywell's GTCP36-100 APU cost? ** not what the gov't pays for them, a decent one surplus... can't be that much you get 1 with a $4 million plane...

it's a daydream, but someone in seattle who's handy could make one.

maybe use the hydraulic side of the APU ;) way easier to manage - not quite as torqy as the electric motor, but !!!

isn't hydraulic hp worth more than revolving hp, but not as much as electric...

anyways, i bet it'd rip! totally get better gas milage and makes a noise even the rotaries can't match.
