Hi everybody,
I am new to this site, hope that I can help people out as much or more than I get helped.
With that said, I have a 1980 nissan 210, with an A12, roll cage, two racing seats, and nothing else, I have been having some problems with it running smoothly, so I decided to rebuild the carb.
Are there any tips or tricks that anyone would like to tell me about on how to squeeze a little more mower out of the stock carb, and maybe a little about what emission systems would be better left unhooked, as the car is never driven on road.

Thank you for your time,
DesertDatsun

since you're using it for racing... you can remove the choke plate to improve airflow

but you'll have problem during cold start. but in my country where the temps are warmer, there is no problem during cold start.

Go through the checks outlined in the tech section for the stock carb to get it running good. How is the ignition system? the advance mechanism can do funny things if not taken care of well. Mine had a broken centrifugal weight spring when I got it, causing the engine to act nuts and idle at different speeds unpredictably.

Also, big gains can be had from tuning the ignition advance curve by replacing one of the centrifugal weight springs with a lighter one. That is supposed to be the best bang for the buck mod you can do to an A12. There is an article about it in the tech section photocopied from an old magazine

Thanks for the tips, I will break out the timing light as soon as I get the carb rebuilt.
Those tech sections are great!
