When I was a young tacker we lived on a farm & had a 520 as the farm ute.
Also had a newer Datto 1500 ute w/ steel tray etc.
Was fixing my ol' trusty RM80 & need a tool that was in the 1500.
The olds (in the 1500) were out around the cows on the trundle rd. paddock.
So of course I jumped in the 520 & went to find 'em.
Now the trundle rd. paddock had this dirty great erosion ditch in the middle, but there was one section where it was basically flat that you could hit at full tilt.
So here I am hurtling down the hill, looking under the steering wheel (I was about 10), heading for the flat spot.......
About 1/2 way down the hill I realise.... Oh ####! Wrong spot - Was heading for a 6' deep erosion ditch.
So of course I hit the brakes.... This is when I discovered that bald tyres & wet grass don't give much traction......
The end result was an almighty 'thump'.
My olds intercepted me heading to the scene of the crime in the old tractor..... I thought if I could get it out they wouldn't notice
