I have an A15 and I want to get a bit more cooler air into the carburetor. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Some more details about your carburettor would help.

Is it standard? Twins? Webers?

I would manufacture a 'cold air' box to house your aircleaner and run a duct from the grille to it.

Ok cool, well its the original A15 carburetor that came with the engine, but the original air filter pan is made differently, that is, it is small and does not house the filter. i got the engine like that from Japan, I assumed that it came off a commercial vehicle . It looks like the pan that it came with was ducted to a box with the filter, but I did not get that part with the engine. The carburetor is not the standard one that comes with the A series engine. I realised this when I was servicing the carburetor and had to get the gasket kit. The A series gasket was not lining up and the A series plunger was to small, after carrying the carburetor to the parts store, it was then i realised that the Nissan E15 gasket and plunger is the corrrect one for it. The E15 came in the front wheel drive Nissan B11 Sunny. Oh yes and I have this engine in a B210 Datsun 120Y. I hope this info helps a it more, Thanks.

Sounds like you got a C20/Vanette engine, best bet is to do something like the photo, or get an air box out of a Skyline or similar, that you can duct to the Radiator support panel.

yeah I really think that the A15 I got is from a C20 Nissan Vanette, but if I install a system like what is displayed in the picture, will the engine burn more gas? I think I will see if I can get a filter box from a Nissan B14 or Skyline or Laurel, will those work?
