I can't help with the KA24 info. It has been done though.
As for L-series and NAPS-Z combos with regard to blocks/pistons/rods/cranks check out the link below. I can't find it right now but I'll post it up as soon as I find it.
Now cylinder heads. There's a great site with all the l-series head info on it. Casting #'s, chamber size, port sizes, etc.. If I can't find it I may be able to find the info somewhere else...
Now with all that being said. I MUST ask what your application is for. If you can tell us what you're looking for in terms of power, economy, reliability, cost, etc.. as well as what parts you have available to you then it might be easier to direct you to info on what head/block combos to use. If you have an L-series smog head then I'd reccomend ka24 head or try to source another L-series head with greater potential unless emissions are your main concern ;)
Anyone have more info Z22 blocks cracking? I've never heard of them being prone to it.
