Yeehaa!! Well fellow 1200 freaks, i finally got my A14 up and running!! She's not idleing at the moment but i took her for a spin around the block just to see how it goes. Only got it
thru 1st and 2nd with a bit of clutch slip and it pulls pretty damn well! Thats without even tuning it! The only time i looked at the tacho was when it hit 6500rpm - with more to come!!!
Anyway, very impressed as u can probably tell. Now the fun begins!! cya's

I know this question has been asked many times before, but what are ALL the parts needed to convert the 1200 to use struts/brakes from the 1979-82 510 (US model)??? If anyone
has done this swap before, is it very hard or does everything pretty much bolt right up? and will it give you more room for bigger wheels?

I have done that swap. If memory serves me it was not as easy as a B-210 swap. The lower control arms are larger on the 510 than either 1200 or B-210. I also remember something about
the tension/compression rods needing a massage of some sort. I relocated the pickup point on the frame for the 510 rods I believe. Another problem I encountered was that when the car is
lowered there is almost no suspension travel in bump. I had to shorten the tubes and use shorter inserts. While those are bigger brakes than the 1200, they will still fade after a few
stops from 100+ MPH. Still had hard pedal but no stopee! I'll keep racking my brain over that conversion and get back to you.

In order to put A10 (510 in US) strut into your Datsun 1200, you need to get B310 (210 in US) lower arms, tension rod, stabilizer bar, and lower ball joint and knuckle arm. If you can
find a decent Datsun 210 in a junkyard, try to get an entire front end clip

After reading sunnyb210's post I went back and reread mine. I meant to say 210 (which would be a B-310) instead of B-210. I have done the 210 swap as well as the 510 and have to
say that the 210 is much easier. As for bigger brakes for the 210 (B-310), I would like to know of some also.

Yeah what kind of brake upgrades can you do to the 210 strut swap setup? I only want to make one trip to the junkyard, and they have almost everything 210, 510, 200SX, 280ZX. Would
it be better to go with the 210 strut swap? What is better with the 510 (A10) swap anyway?

Thanks for the 210 strut info. I have one question, what is the front
end clip?

A front end clip is normally a front end cut - a complete section of a wrecked car from the A pillar foward - obviously with a front wheel drive this gives you
all the drivetrain.
I suspect what the strut/brake swap post meant was the complete front suspension.
