any nissan struts can be fitted, just some reqiure more modifying that others

personally i would never buy stanza struts as they are too long for use in a lowered 1200 and its really not hard to change the spring perch to make the struts able to use smaller springs

first thing that you should consider is the brakes you would like to run, then get a strut that requires the least modification to fit them

bluebird struts will fit if you change the spring perch to one the size of the original 1200 one, then you will need all the same lower arms and stuff as you would to fit stanza struts
lastly you will need to get the spacer thing to make the strut fit the steering arm without movement

then you could upgrade the brakes straight to r31 brakes, both disc and caliper bolt straight up

hmm looks like i might use the struts out of the 1600 i have sitting at home then, do many engineers have problems with different spring seats being welded on? as these struts have some pretty stiff small springs, and huuge brakes

ive used r31 but used a coilover kit and camber tops made by a member on this site to fit them. i choose them cause of good brakes and erasy fitment. look in my album for shots

if they are standard 1600 spring size they are still to big
personally i cant see an engineer having a problem with different spring perches, as you would be welding them on the same as the factory did

personally the bluebird struts would be a better choice if you just want the r31 brakes, then you could run more negative camber

r31 struts are good for running big wheels as the stub axel angle is different to most other nissan struts

no there not standard 1600 struts
they are a height adjustable coilover style set up running 260z brakes that have been cross drilled. where made using modified mazda 808 rear spring seats and a custom spring.

dad's old 1600 was a lotta fun in it's day.

the springs look to be about the same size as the springs on your coilovers dat5_al.

can't believe i am going to all this effort and it's not even my ute. but in means my girlfirend has seen the light.
