Hi all,

Thanks,
Philip

Std wheels should have been 155r12's
4.5" rim width - OD of about 550mm and section width of 157m
Not to sure on the wheelbase but it should be in your little book out of the glovebox?

I only have the sedan/coupe and wagon factory manual, have you had a look in the tech section at all?

NOT SO.

The standard tyres for a '1200 Ute' were 6:00x12 & they measured a nominal 574mm OD. The rears might have been 6 ply while the fronts would have been the regular 4 ply.

Passenger model 1200's had 6:00x12x 4 ply's as standard too, & the radials were an extra cost option, but they were not available for utes, at least not in the 70's as the requirement was for a 'light truck' tyre & these were not available in 12" sizes for quite a while.
The cross ply tyres were also much cheaper than them new fangled radials & one of the big selling features of the ute was its low price. Radials, when they eventually became available, just drove the price up.

The road wheels were a 12"x4" j or JJ.

The wheelbase for passenger models is 90.6" according to my 1972 sales brochure & I think that Utes were the same.
My conversion quackelator calls it 2,301mm

Go here and type wheels in the search box: http://wiki.datsun1200.com. All the specs are there, wheelbase, wheel size, even wheel offset is discussed.

Keep in mind that wheel offset for the 1200 is not in any Nissan literature that I've seen. But our wiki talks about it.
