i highly recommend the xtreme cushion button. drives like a normal car but uses brass button plates. My car launched on slicks at the drags, no slip whatsoever. and they are about $400 for the whole kit.

also don't bother with exxedy. i have heard plenty of bad reports on their clutches

Im with lag wagon with this one.
I have had quite a few clutch failures behind my ca18 over the years A sprung center is a must solid centers are just too harsh on the rest of your driveline. I now run a 4 puck xtreme sprung center with heaps of clampage (cant remember what rating)around 1200kg??
The next step is a twin plate at around $1600 ill give it a miss.
Cheers Andrew

I've been using Jim's clutches in various cars for 15 years. I've never had a failure despite the fact that I have competed in circuit sprints, drag racing, bitumen motorkhanas and dirt motorkhanas. Of course there has been plenty of everyday driving and the odd skid thrown in too. They may be a bit dearer but changing a CA clutch in a 1200 is a prick of a job. I'd rather pay a bit extra and know it's good for years of driving.

FWIW my current Jim Berry clutch has been in the car for 4 odd years and is still going strong.

Matty

i gave my xtreme cltuch a punishing and it still remained 100%. the clutch fork cracked (factory nissan item) before the clutch did anything. I ran 8 inch slicks at the drags and managed to bring the front up the clutch was no worries! i had about 180rwkw

i'm sure ca18detman's clutch cops plenty of stress trying to get the power to the 8 inch rear wheels and he is recommending too, sounds like an easy $400 choice to me!

i was going to use the xtreme motorsport clutch, it's around $600, 1050kg clamp pressure, the one for approx $400 has 800 kg's clamp pressure, the pressure plates are made of different steel. lagwagon do you have the 5 puck, HD pressure plate version?
