Make sure they can find a new one first. The older radios have a "2-shaft" mount system where the new radios are DIN mount. IF he wants to mount a new radio where the old one went, he will probably have to cut up the dash.

Your friend might want to mount the new radio in the glove box or make a console to mount it in. It's also rather simple to mount the radio in a housing that mounts under the dash.

believe it or else, some sunny's came with a tape player in the centre console. It's the same as the tape player in an n12 pulsar or 910 bluebird. to remove it from the centre console, you have to take the console out & there's roughly 4-6 screws holding the two brackets attached to the tape player to the inside of the console. Once they are removed, you can take the insert in the console out by removing all the phillips head screws then put the insert from a normal sunny centre console. i used the insert that came with my panel van to mount a volt metre, a driving light switch & a 4 way fader to control front to rear & side to side on the radio, using a piece of plastic cut to size & screw to the front of the insert.what your friend could do is get the tape player & radio from a bluebird & mount those in place of the sunny originals, which will give fm stereo & a tape player which plays through the radio speakers.
