Is it a 6mm stud or is it larger? I have filed flat sides on the stub stucking out and used a wrench to turn broken studs out. If it is stuck real bad, you may have to apply heat. If you
heat it, use a hot flame and heat only the stud stub sticking out but don't melt it. I have had to use an aceytelene torch before on exhaust studs and it didn't hurt the head or gasket.
If you file the sides flat to fit on a wrench, don't turn it so hard that it rounds the flats off, you may need them to turn the stud out after it is heated.

Linc a few ideas.
- There are actually tools called easy outs or something similar you buy if all else fails and they are good if there is nothing sticking out. They have a reverse thread so you drill a
hole in the stud then screw them in and keep going. They have taper on them so they bite in.
- Heat is good you should only need it on the stud. Try getting it red hot a couple of times and dousing it in cold water the snap change in temp can help.
- If its not to seized put plently of WD40 or CRC on it and wind on 2 nuts then tighten them against each other and then try undoing the inner one.
These ideas are probably in reverse order of how tightly the stud is seized and I would attempt it in that reverse order as far as ease of execution. Penetrating oil (WD40) is good in
all situations. It may smoke up with the hot stud but I have never had it catch on fire.
Ipresume the head is out of the car and i don't have to remind you about the open flame in teh engine bay etc.

No problem. We allways run into broken studs at work. If theres still 8mm hanging out then sit a nut over the top and mig weld inside the nut onto the stud. Easy. If that doesnt work and
the nut breaks off and u now have nothing to weld onto, get the drill out with a smallish drill bit and use some easyouts. These things have saved us many hours of work as there pretty easy
to use. Hence the name i would asssume. Another way if all else fails is to completly drill the stud out and re-tap the thread with a slitly larger size. I dont recomend doing this tho as u
should get it out correctly. Hope this helps!

Remember that eze-outs aint eze-outs.
I've got an old set that are truely ancient, used dozens of times, I think it's all in the
quality.
Heat treatment helps. getting the stods out of a turbo exhaust manifold is a truely
testing job.

yep they were eze-out brand - the real ones - they snapped nicely too - my favourite one was where the rest of the eze out got stuck in the bolt i was trying to remove,
making it imposible to drill out...
they are fun.
