ok heres my dilemma, i got one of those mini thumpstars motorbikes of a fella, for very cheap, it was using a lil bit of oil, and on closer inspection it was dribbling out from some where underneath, layed it down, and had a look, there is a crack about 30mm long, where the engine mounts 2 the frame, now my question is can you weld the blocks on these engines, or anything 2 try seal it, or wat can i do 2 hold it 2 gether. maybe a sealant or something? i have tried 2 call the guy back, with no luck. wat do people recommend???, somebody has 2 have had soemthing similiar or somebody on here shud know from experience. cheers guys

the engines on those things are total chinese garbage second only to american rubbish quality however if you want to get it going again you can use a product called JB weld especially designed by the americans for fixing cracked american and chinese blocks.

If it cracked due to metal stresses in the area...then there probably is no GOOD long term solution as whatever you do to the block...it will still be subjected to the same stresses....so any repair would need to make the part alot stronger than it was originally............

or maybe the complete opposite!!! more flexible.....as this may transfer the stress elsewhere??? If giving it a good clean and applying some fuel/oil resistant sealent doesn't work....maybe you should buy another engine???
