standard a12 1980 ute diff.. not sure what the ratio is. what swaps hav other people done to get a higher ratio?

standard ratio will be 4.11
you can get 3.9s from most bluebirds and jap stanzas
and you can get 3.7s from the 4 speed 4 door series 1 or 2 bluebirds

so how dificult is it to change the diffs. does it make a noticable difference? as i bairly use my 1st gear

not really hard to do
take the axles out
undo tailshaft
pull 4.11 centre out
put 3.7 centre in

and yes you will notice the differance....my 1200 was a 3 speed when i first got it too
