Thought you guys might be interested -- there's an original 1200SSS for sale in Christchurch, NZ. You probably already know, but these were a NZ only car with factory side-draufgts, mags, sports steering wheel, centre console with built-in tacho and hi-back seats -- sold new with full factory warranty. From memory, I think they were 96bhp.I was lucky enough to own several of these in the '70's [ old bastard-I know! ] along with various other 1200 coupes and sedans.
I'm tempted to buy it and ship it back to Brisbane --- just have to market the idea to the wife!
The car can be seen on classiccarfair.com
Just look under 'D' or 'New listngs'.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Bart,
Actually I think its rather cheap at that.
If you look at price relativities such as RS 2000 Escorts $35000+, BDA Escorts $100000+, A very good friend of mine sold an LJ XU1 Torana to a chap in Brisbane recently for $50000 Australian, then there was the GTHO that went for $460000 something Aussie, RX3 Mazdas etc and of course the E38 + 49 Chargers - all cars of the same era and same mould so to speak.
Not to mention the stock standard auto 1200 on Trade me for $5000 I believe that it makes a one of the very few remaining factory specials somewhere well over $20000! Of course they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay and with the economy tightening up there may not be the spare cash around to test the market.
Cheers
Dave
