i have put a a ca18 non turbo in a 12oo ute some people are saying im a retard for not seam welding

wat do you think ????

Wouldn't worry about it for a N/A CA18, or for that matter, just about any street car.

If you were intending to spend a lot of time at the track / strip with a high HP motor, getting heaps of grip (resulting in high chassis stresses), I'd say go for it.

But then again.... If you have a bare shell, a MIG & heaps of spare time........

i run a 383 chev in mine and it is not seam welded.
it gets lots of twist,but no cracking or structural problems.

Is that for drag strip only dat383?

I remember ca18det_man saying his body was cracking under the power and cornering G forces....that's why he needed to seem weld - but that is an out and out circuit car.

yeah,my car is drag only,so i guess it could be a different story for the circuit racers.
although my comment was more towards the power figures coming out of a non turbo ca18 and the need to seam weld his car.
